Funeral is underway for Cllr David Greenhalgh
A FUNERAL service is underway for the respected Bolton Council leader David Greenhalgh.
Cllr Greenhalgh died aged 53 on July 29, leaving politicial figures and residents shocked and saddened.
The cortege left Relph’s Funeralcare earlier, en-route to Dunscar War Memorial, then proceeded along Blackburn Road and Topp Way.
Minutes ago it arrived at Victoria Square and paused in front of the Town Hall steps, before continuing to the parish church.
His funeral service is being conducted by the Vicar of Bolton, Revd Canon Dr Chris Bracegirdle.
Road closures and parking restrictions along Churchgate, Church Bank and Paley Street will remain in force until 2pm.
