Winnipeg police to provide update on Red River Trail sex assault investigation
Winnipeg police will be providing an update Friday morning on the investigation into a series of sexual assaults along the Red River Trail.
On Aug. 27, Winnipeg sex crimes investigators arrested a suspect in connection with the sexual assault of a teenage girl along the river trail near Churchill High School.
Jordan Andrew Bruyere, 29 â" who was wanted on charges of sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, and sexual assault â" was taken into custody.

Prior to the arrest, police had publicly released surveillance footage of man wearing all black, described as a âperson of interestâ in the case.
At the time, police said they believed Bruyere was the man depicted in the footage, and that they were looking into the possibility that he was involved in other incidents in the same area.Global News will stream the police press conference on this page at 11 a.m. Friday.
